The image at Howard Smith Wall of the Story Bridge looks great; however, it shows a considerable amount of converging verticals. In particular the buildings on the left look as if they’re falling over and the reflections of the bridge in the Brisbane River look wrong. I’d always use the Transform tool in Lightroom to correct this. It’s very simple and quick to use and I think it would greatly improve the image.

Beautiful. Post is still a little overwhelming to me. I'm using darktable as it's free open source. Any darktable RAW developing for beginners would be cool. Don't know if you're an ADOBE cult member or not. 😂

Paul, I really liked your video and especially the photo. When I was in the USNavy in the late 60’s we stopped in Brisbane; I met some wonderful people and have fond memories. Wonderful, processing flow, IMO a little over processed. But, I’m no professional photographer. 😊

How do you do this for indoors. Outdoors you have the help of sunlight for this stuff.

Both images are amazing. You're correct in that I tend to increase my ISO with night photography because I do a lot of sports photography. But I will need to remember to slow the shutter speed in the future.

Hi Paul, I did pick-up some cool tips from your editing. I do enjoy shooting long exposures at night and I learnt a tip, when editing I don't use the White Slider on night shots, but I do use it in daylight. Thanks Paul I will definitely use the White Slider on my next night shoot. Also thanks for mentioning the D Noise Slider as well, that will come in handy. This video was very useful for my photography. Cheers thanks 😊

Here is my question. I've been looking into cameras that take professional photos, but also can film nearly pro level movies. The two I have been looking at is the black magic 6 k and Sony alpha a7r 4 or 5. What would be your recommendation between those cameras to get the best of both worlds? Thanks!

I mean, simple wide angle photography is the only thing phones are good at, meanwhile it's just one of the things a full frame can do, it's the iPhone giving everything it can vs the Nikon at 5% of it's potential, and really that's what you're paying for

Good video! My 50mm f/1.4 was one of first lenses. Since then I've added some of the top rated lenses like the RF 24-70mm f/2.8, but the nifty fifty is a classic and always in my camera bag.

I got an RF nifty fifty for Canon and only later discovered that it's actually a nifty eighty on APS-C sensors (oops). It's absolutely beautiful and I use it to take IR photos on an unconverted camera body, helps a lot there, but that was a frustrating beginner mistake. 80mm is a bit much a lot of the time when it's fixed. I'll end up with a full frame eventually 😹
